Photographing lakes can be a challenge since very often the photo is more appealing when the surroundings are reflected. But these reflections only appear when the lake’s surface is perfectly even which is the case when there is no wind at all. And very often this is not the case so that there are ripples on the lakes surface. What helps is waiting for the right moment so that the wind calms down and then take the photo.
But in this scene there was an additional challenge: the beautiful cloud in the sky just happened to be illuminated by the sun and it was also moving. So I couldn’t wait a long time and eventually repeat the photo by trying out a different compositions. There was exactly one photo to be taken (believe me I stood there for a while) and I’m happy to share it with you.
